There are few combinations more unlikely, more irrational and more exciting than a Ferrari built for rallying.

In the late seventies, renowned engineer Giuliano Michelotto transformed the elegant Ferrari 308 GTB into a Group 4 rally machine with the support of Enzo Ferrari himself. While it never achieved the international dominance of the Lancia Stratos, it became something arguably even more fascinating: one of the most charismatic and visually striking rally Ferraris ever created.

Now, decades later, Maturo Competition Cars brings that idea back to life.

The Maturo 308 Stradale is a fully re-engineered Ferrari 308 inspired by the legendary Michelotto Group 4 rally cars. Built to combine timeless Italian design with rally-bred engineering, modern reliability and an intensely analogue driving experience.

This is not a retro reinterpretation. It is the Ferrari 308, reimagined as it always deserved to be.

Chassis & body

Every Maturo 308 Stradale starts with an original Ferrari 308 donor vehicle, retaining its original VIN identity. The chassis is fully stripped, carefully inspected and rebuilt from the ground up. A custom integrated roll cage and more than 150 structural reinforcement welds drastically improve rigidity, balance and safety. The chassis forms a stronger and more precise foundation, allowing the suspension and drivetrain to perform as intended. Inspired by the Michelotto Group 4 rally cars, the body receives wider rear arches, completely shaped by hand. The transformation gives the car a purposeful competition stance while respecting the timeless silhouette of the original 308 GTB.

Engine

At the heart of the Maturo 308 Stradale is Ferrari's naturally aspirated V8, completly rebuilt and extensively redeveloped by Maturo. The engine receives comprehensive internal upgrades, redesigned airflow systems, revised camshafts and modern ignition technology. Together, these developments improve performance, response and reliability while preserving the raw, mechanical character that makes the original V8 so compelling.

Gearbox & drivetrain

The five-speed manual gearbox features reinforced internals and shorter, rally-inspired ratios, keeping the naturally aspirated V8 responsive while retaining the iconic gated manual shifter.

A plated limited-slip differential improves traction and control out of corners, creating a drivetrain that feels direct, mechanical and deeply involving.

Brakes

The braking system has been redeveloped as an integral part of the complete vehicle package. Improved stopping power, consistency and pedal feel give the driver the confidence to fully explore the performance of the car. The calibration remains direct and progressive, providing clear feedback without taking away from the analogue nature of the driving experience. Braking performance, suspension behaviour and chassis balance are developed together to make the Maturo 308 Stradale feel predictable and composed in every situation.

Interior

Analogue, purposeful and beautifully crafted. The interior blends Group 4 rally inspiration with Italian grand touring elegance, combining bespoke controls and a custom dashboard with carbon fibre, anodised aluminium, leather and Alcantara. Every detail is driver-focused and tailored to the owner’s personal specification.

Engine

The engine is completely rebuilt to Group A specifications with additional technical advancements, surpassing the original rally car’s performance and durability. This engine puts out 400 hp and 540 Nm.
Various parts of the engine are replaced by lighter, stronger and more precise components.
